Crops monitoring

With this solution, farmers can monitor the current state of their crops, plants or vineyards from any device connected to Internet, as well as the possible risks of diseases and, in general, conduct an integral management. All this is based on objective data collected rom their exploitation in real time.

The Nanoenvi equipment, specifically developed for projects that monitor environmental variables in crops, have been designed in collaboration with experts specialized in agriculture. Their versatility makes them ideal for processes in precision agriculture.

Composition of the solution to monitor crops

The solution to monitor crops includes:

  1. A wireless network of sensors at agroclimatic stations. They capture variables that are relevant for the detection of irrigation and efficiency levels in agriculture, with the purpose of optimizing the consumption of water and fertilizers:
  • Temperature of the air.
  • Temperature of the leaf.
  • Humidity of the air.
  • Humidity of the leaf.
  • Volumetric content of water in soil at different depths.
  • Conductivity of the soil.
  • Temperature of the soil.
  • Rainfall.
  • Speed of the wind.
  • Direction of the wind.

2. A smart software system to exploit the data captured to generate warnings and notifications for events that can pose a risk.

Continuous monitoring

The projects of solutions are customized for each client and designed in close cooperation with experts in crops.

First, we determine the strategic points to establish the network of Nanoenvi® AGRO sensors for crops (both outdoors and in greenhouses).

The devices used for this solution are fed by a small solar panel in the carcass of the equipment, and it can be set at the point required for monitoring. They have connectivity up to 6 gauges.

Communication modules

The flexibility of the firmware displayed at Nanoenvi stations enables the equipment to be directly integrated with any kind of IoT platform or control center, both cloud-based and local ones, through communication protocols (format of messages, communication and transport networks, M2M networks) completely adapted to each case. The electronics for acquisition and communication questions each sensor at pre-established intervals, sending the data to the cloud through the communication channel set up. The communication between the device and the server in the cloud can be conducted directly through technologies such as 3G, and soon Narrow-Band, or through the creation of Low Power Wide Area (LPWAN) networks (like LORA o Xbee). These networks are set up in such a way that the devices are connected to one or several hubs or gateways, and these send the data to the cloud server. The format of the messages can be specifically adapted to the needs of the client's monitoring center, thanks to drivers developed for that purpose.

Data display and analysis

All the data are transmitted to the ENVIRA DS platform, which makes the integration of the systems easier and keeps the farmer or field technician updated about the needs of the crop.

Thanks to the exploitation of these data, you can:

In this way, farmers can take measures sooner to mitigate them, and they can know when they need to water, fumigate and fertilize to obtain more profitable productions.

Management of warnings

The system can detect events   relevant for the business thanks to Artificial Intelligence and expert systems. Thanks to these warnings, the operators receive instantly the information about possible deviations requiring immediate intervention, even before the failure.

The acquisition and communication electronics continuously control the environmental variables of the farms and sends data to the control centers at planned intervals.
