METEOROLOGICAL SENSORS

Meteo Met One Instruments

Met One Instruments is a leader company in research, development and manufacturing of meteorological instruments, particle monitoring and environmental software.

Met One Instruments meteorological sensors are characterized by their reliability and meet the needs of meteorological monitoring even in the most adverse weather conditions.

Meteorological variables play a crucial role in air quality monitoring. These variables provide information on atmospheric conditions that can affect the dispersion, formation and transport of air pollutants.

METEOROLOGICAL SENSORS FOR MONITORING ATMOSPHERIC VARIABLES

Some of the most important meteorological variables in the measurement of air quality are:

  • Wind direction and wind speed: by using an anemometer these parameters are determined which help determine the direction in which pollutants move, which can be crucial in identifying emission sources and assessing their impact on nearby or distant areas.
  • Atmospheric temperature: influences the formation and chemical reactions of pollutants, including the reaction rate of ozone and influencing thermal inversion, so it is important to measure it with a temperature sensor.
  • Humidity: with a relative humidity sensor it is possible to measure and predict possible chemical reactions, such as the formation of nitric acid and sulphuric acid, as well as the deposition and dispersion of suspended particles.
  • Solar radiation: sunlight can initiate photochemical reactions that generate secondary pollutants such as ozone and the intensity of solar radiation can influence the volatilisation of VOCs.
  • Barometric pressure: high pressures cause air masses to drop and if this episode coincides with high levels of emissions, the dispersion of pollutants towards higher layers of the atmosphere is prevented, which is why it is important to measure it in order to predict pollution episodes.

SENSOR MSO

Wind speed and direction are measured with conventional techniques. The other parameters are inside a radiation shield with multiple plates to reduce the errors due to solar radiation and to allow air to enter through the shield. The temperature sensor is a platinum RTD. Humidity uses a solid sensor. The temperature sensor is piezo-resistive. Digital outlet with data flow per second or on demand.

SENSOR AIO2

This complete high-performance system uses 2D sonic technology by Met One Instruments. This technology provides high accuracy without moving parts and it includes a compass for automatic alignment with magnetic North. Temperature and humidity elements are integrated in an IP65 module with a quick connector for field calibration. It can be connected to a rain gauge and to a solar radiation sensor.

SENSOR 597

The 597 is an integrated system to measure temperature, relative humidity and barometric pressure. All the elements are high quality and designed for harsh environments. All the components are within a radiation shield with aspiration. It has digital and analogical outlets for maximum flexibility.

SPEED AND DIRECTION SENSOR 034W

The sensor 034B combines direction and speed in just one unit. It provides continuous measuring and in harsh environments. The system uses a quick connection wire that can be stretched hundreds of meters without affecting the measurement. Available with optional 0 - 1 or 0 - 5 VDC outlet.

50.5 ULTRASONIC SPEED AND DIRECTION SENSOR

The model 50.5 includes a distortion and factorization algorithm that has been tested and accepted in applications all over the world. Digital and analogical outlets. Absence of moving parts. Optional heating for work with snow or ice. Low maintenance.

These sensors are accurate, long-lasting, economical and suitable instruments for a wide range of applications to study the wind. Designed for unattended working. Low start threshold. Made of aluminum and stainless steel, resistant to corrosion. Cups of aluminum or lexan available. Precision potentiometer.

SPEED SENSOR 013 AND DIRECTION SENSOR 023

Designed for accurate and reliable measuring in the most adverse environmental conditions. Suitable for applications that are remote or difficult to access for maintenance and where there is the possibility of strong winds and heavy ice. Maximum quality materials. Stainless steel ball bearings.

TEMPERATURE AND RELATIVE HUMIDITY SENSOR 083E

It is an extraordinarily sensitive measuring tool, with outstanding accuracy. Solid building and digital electronics. Response time: less than 5 seconds for a 90% of the final value. Low energy consumption. Easy cleaning with distilled water.

RAIN GAUGE 360

The rain gauges of the 306 series are reliable high-quality instruments to measure rain and/or snow. Double-side basket with auto-emptying. The sample is discharged through the base of the gauge. Optional heating system available to melt snow and ice, thus avoiding loss due to evaporation. Building of anodized aluminum and stainless steel. Bubble level for a correct assembly.

BAROMETRIC PRESSURE SENSOR 092

The sensor measures the absolute atmospheric pressure and, with digital technology, changes it into a proportional charge. Strong and low-maintenance building. Resistant to harsh weather conditions. Suitable for measuring from sea level up to 3 000 meters high.

PYRANOMETER 095

The model 095 pyranometer includes a hemisphere of accurate rectified optical glass, transparent to wavelengths from 0.285 to 2.80 microns. Wide wavelength. Temperature compensation. Quick response time. Levelling device included.

SOLAR RADIATION SENSOR 094

A perfect solution for applications to measure sun radiation and meteorology in general. It complies with the requirements of the ISO 9060 and the World Meteorological Organization for solar measurements.

VISIBILITY SENSOR 6400

Designed to measure visibility conditions from 6 meters to 80 kilometers. The digital output RS-232 can be used to indicate the current visibility, provide information on the diagnostic and access to the settings and calibration options. This sensor is intended to provide precision and reliability for a reasonable price. Apt for lighthouses, roads, touristic areas, sea platforms. Compact and light design. Resistant to corrosion. Meteorological optical range (MOR).
