Smart Coruña

Published on 28 April, 2016

A strategic alliance between the companies Envira and Treelogicdiseña has carried out the first environmental pilot project within the Coruña Smart City project.

Within the framework of the Digital Agenda, the Smart Coruña programme is the result of an agreement between the Local Administration and the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness. This programme has a budget of 11.5 million euros and has been 70% co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and European Social Fund (ERDF) through the de I+D+I Operational Programme for the benefit of Technology Fund companies to be performed in 2012-2013.

Its aim is a mixed service and supply contract for the provision, development, support and maintenance of an early alert system for air quality and noise with the Coruña Smart City platform.

The scope of the pilot early alert system for air quality and noise will include the improvement of the systems currently used to manage these environmental vectors by means of: the addition of new sensors to an alert network; the automation of data input and output; and the integration of all the information collected in the CORUÑA SMART CITY PLATFORM in the forecasting of operational needs according to holistic models.

With this project, Envira takes a new step towards its consolidation as a company specialized in the supply and implantation of environmental technologies. In a strategic way, the company takes part, when so required, in an “Open Innovation” model as in this case.
